Is this the end? I this the accumulation of all our bad habits and assumed necessities? We are seeing, these days, that our access to so much information is making it hard to determine legitimate information from ‘here say’ or theories. I, myself have many worries, from my family to just having spine surgery two weeks ago. I was lucky that all I was doing was healing anyway but I also spent two days in the hospital right before this Pandemic started. This situation is new to all of us and I wish more people would take it seriously and just wait it out for a few weeks. Either way it’s helping for everyone to isolate for a bit. I hope the effect is positive and, beyond recovery, can be the beginning of a new Eco-friendly trend. This virus seems to be attacking the weak or vulnerable, like natural selection.
This is just my opinion, but a frightening realization, all the same. They are reporting the best scenario for the country to be 100k to 200k Americans to die. I also keep hearing people compare this to the Flu, which takes about 50k-70k lives per year, and that’s just from what we know so far. I think we should treat this Kovid19 as it’s own monster. It’s seems to be much more aggressive and, if we are just starting to see it, the worst is yet to come. Look at Italy, almost a thousand deaths over night, multiplied by our numbers, it looks grim for us.
Stay home! Keep your family safe and at a distance from everyone if you can. Follow protocols if you have to be out. In my house my wife is the one who goes out but not our 3 year old daughter. My son works at Home Depot and it’s considered essential I guess? Luckily, he’s still in high school and works part time, but still has to sterilize as soon as he gets home. I’d rather he not go at all but it is what it is, hopefully he’s listening to me about distance and washing hands and such. Together I believe we can recover from whatever is still to come and create more awareness regarding our impact on the planet and each other. This shows the relationship between all mankind: WE ARE ALL HUMAN and we ALL affect each others lives.
If this particular situation doesn’t extinguish all passions, that any one race is better than another, I’m not sure what will. The world is changing before our eyes and as bad as this stay-home order seems to be, it’s a small price to pay, to keep my family safe. I hope more follow suit and we can show the world how strong, and together, our country is. Stay home if you can, appreciate the danger that some are exposed to to contain this virus, hold your family close. Keep a sense of humor about it but take it seriously and hope we can get passed this soon, and together.
Either way, I believe things may be a bit different after all this, as if it weren’t already tough enough to just exist, but we can make it a good thing if we want, just a bit different. Stay safe everyone, this too shall pass, and the future could be brighter than ever expected, or worse, that depends on us.

Where do we meet? We meet at the doors of the ocean. Wings spread, gills open. Filtering the air we sail upon, from water. Eventually to settle back to earth. To begin from the origin again. And thus is the journey. PaddythePoet
My journey into Veganism continues and has been an interesting journey thus far. The thing that has made it so easy for me is the knowledge I have gained through my own research with regard to the health issues created from a traditional diet. The “reflex” to eat steak and chicken has since subsided and even when I did picture something in my head, I wanted to just devour, it quickly subsided when I remembered the facts I have discovered. There are a lot of reasons people go vegan but for me, the only one that relates to me is “for the planet”. I don’t think it’s right that we grow animals to eat but I didn’t mind much when they landed on my plate, and I’m not a hypocrite.
The one thing I have been very aware of is my influence. I was worried about my families response to my change of lifestyle, since all are beer, bacon and barbecuing Americans, as I was for 50 years. I have never liked people pushing their own beliefs on myself, or others for that matter, and I refuse to be that person. That’s why for the last two months I haven’t written about my journey, I am still figuring it out myself. I didn’t want to talk about it until I understood what was happening myself.
My family has been remarkably supportive of my decision, but honestly, not around enough for me to bother them with why it’s a good idea to go vegan. Really, this is a life choice for me, to add some longevity and not feel like a victim of our culture. I also spent 35 years drinking and partying and wanted to experience a cleaner life before I go. The combination of this and a personal tragedy solidified the change to a healthy body and state of mind.
Now, the reality of it. I’m glad I have never been a big eater because on occasion I am still struggling with finding things to eat. We have been lucky enough to live in an area that caters to a healthy lifestyle and environmental consciousness and Vegan options are growing rapidly. At the same time, in my own head, I’m criticizing myself for not eating like a “real man”. Another cultural lie, like religion, in my opinion. I have found that I still have, and fight through, the same biases I grew up with. If you care about the “Jones’ ” or fold to peer pressure easily, it may be a rough transition.
The one thing I can suggest is to remember, just because you went vegan, it doesn’t mean everyone else should too. Lead by example, live the life and thrive, and others will see the benefits and if not, well, plenty of people live long lives eating what they want, smoking and not taking care of themselves, leave them alone. It’s a choice, not a policy. I have friends who have already told me that they are doubling their meat and dairy intake to cover my lack of consumption. lol I laugh. Just like when I quit drinking, I still put beer in the fridge for my friends. Just because I quit doesn’t mean everyone else did.
My journey is in it’s infancy but stronger than I could have imagined. My palette is adjusting and taste buds, that were dulled for years, have come alive. Honestly, not necessarily always good, as I taste every flavor involved now. We have been discovering new spots with vegan options and I have been impressed and amazed at the adaptions people are creating to provide comfort foods to those who choose this life. I recently found the most amazing plant-based burger for my gluttony. No, it doesn’t come from a fast food operation, and I wouldn’t trust them anyway.
In closing, what I have learned thus far is, when you have the facts, going vegan is easy, it just requires home cooked food to be feasible. Best of luck if your making the change and don’t beat yourself up if you “relapse”, your healthier than when you weren’t trying at all.

I started my journey to a Plant-based diet on November 8th, 2019, my 50th birthday, in an effort to rid my body of pollutants, that might prohibit my recovery, and to do my part for the Environment by negating my support for the Meat and Dairy industries. The knowledge I have gained from educating myself, both research and life experience, have set a clear path of understanding for me. The evidence is too obvious to ignore and I am tired of lies and victimization of an entire country, or world, for that matter.
I am no hypocrite, I have raised three of my children on your standard American diet: meat, potatos, fast food, candy, milk, junk food and everything else that goes along with the “baseball & BBQ’s” American culture. Honestly, I’m going to miss my dad’s rib’s. Or, like drinking, is it just because it’s what I’ve known for my whole life? The cravings seem to be present, but when put in my face, my conscious kicks in, and I remember why I am doing what I am doing. I have never had the will-power I exhibit today and still struggling to understand why I was unable to make these changes earlier. At the same time, my body seems to be riding a roller-coaster, but is stable.
What I have found in my first 2 weeks, basically, is a lack of options when out on the town and the craving for greenery is lacking. Unlike a steak, or Hodad’s burger, I can’t think of a green I want to DEVOUR! The Plant-based food needs to be altered and incorporated to keep it interesting. That’s fine, when you have the time, most people are pretty busy, but if you make the effort the dividends are huge.
The object for me is to help and inform as many people as I can about the Power of Plants and creating a Plant-based Planet. Isn’t the time for over-indulgence and gluttony passed? Is anyone else, besides myself, tired of being a victim and told what’s good for us (for the industries more likely)? I encourage you to join me and spread the information, that is readily out there, to those who want to make a difference. Subscribe to my YouTube page (Link below) to join me in my journey to educate as many as are willing to listen. If I can gain enough support I will do the legwork and event take event suggestions that I can help organize through my non-profit on Google: Green Living Life.
I thank you for your time and encouragement and welcome your criticisms. There is no bad intent here, only a loyal American who has served and sacrificed, only to watch the one’s we trusted take advantage for their owns interests.

So here I sit, on the verge of fifty, re-evaluating and re-thinking everything I have known to be normal. Your average, working class, American Joe who is educating himself on the multitude of transitions our Country is currently putting itself through. We are being bombarded on all sides by fears of, well, just about everything. Yes, there is plenty to worry about but the threat comes of our own doing, our own conjuration of what we need! In my youth, American culture and pride is what we knew. Everyone in the schools and government was in agreement, in appearance, with a common enemy, Communism.
We believed it when they told us to drink milk, and cottage cheese and yogurt are healthy or bacon is good and so is beef. Eat eggs for protein and lots of delicious, savory chicken, it’s the healthier meat. Now, I’m not a hypocrite, I was raised on Baseball, football and BBQ’s. I gave my kids vaccinations, candy, snacks, some veggies, fast food, video games and plenty of American pride, same as I received. My three older children have all turned out to be wonderful young adults and my oldest son died in 2016 while still in uniform serving our Country. The reason I added this is so you truly understand my intent and my need to educate, not only my remaining three kids, but you as a person, because it’s your right to lead a great and long life, if you choose.
This change that I am making is as extreme a change as I could make and it has been easy to do since researching some of the information on health, diseases and the people SAYING they are there to help. The built in cycle of sickening ourselves continuously and paying for medication that keeps us sick for a lifetime! And they have us all convinced that anyone who finds proof otherwise is a fraud! The environmentalists and activists are kooks and have no proof! Well, they do have proof, and it’s overwhelming. The first thing I realized when my research started was that Humans are vegan. We were never meant to eat meat in the first place.
Have you ever noticed that the biggest and strongest mammals on the planet are herbivores? This, for me, put’s to rest the meat diet that is suggested in sports to build body mass. More importantly, there is a direct link to heart disease related to meat, and some of the Groups that say they are searching for the cure, are actually sponsored by a host of companies in the slaughtering business. The meat is diseased and filled with injected chemicals before it every arrives on your plate. Some of the things I found while researching made my stomach turn, including, the knowledge and support of the US Government. This system was so incredibly streamlined, that today, the groups “fighting for the cure” are actually just “making a huge profit”. The money goes to treating the patients, not eliminating Cancer all together. The fact that they allow a yogurt company to sponsor them, when the chances for breast cancer increase by 48% when you consume the product, is proof to the boldness of those in charge.
The last thing I ever wanted to say is “I’m vegan” or “vegetarian”! In my time as a youth, those people got beat up. With the current research tools available now though, I like being educated much better. I have worried about my kids futures, cancer, nuclear war, Communism, Aids, Vaccinations, plastics, our planet, the ocean, war and when “the big one” is going to hit! Never in my wildest dreams did I believe a solution could be so simple, easy and uncomplicated, and at the same time, impossible! There is black tape being put over the mouth of the information, hidden in a crowd of lobbyists, Corporations, manufacturers and Government Representatives that we all know stand to lose a huge amount of wealth if the truth is known.
I am tired of being their victim and I want to inform as many as I can, that there is a way to stop, turn-around or change the outcome and life of those that are smart enough to listen, to not just to me, research it yourself, it’s blatantly obvious. The biggest causes of the medical conditions most associated with being “American” can be cured, eliminated or reversed by what this Planet has provided us. Big money and Government has decided that keeping us ignorant and sick is better. So, an epiphany, has happened for me. Through exposure to the facts and living proof through my youngest daughter. Join me at YouTube.com@PaddytheBlogger to make the change and choose to live, not only longer, but with the less fear and the knowledge that everyone can make a difference.
I will begin a log of my dietary changes and prove the power of plants. I will also be speaking more about my starting health condition and see if this change to a Plant-based diet is as great as I have come to believe it to be, or if things remain the same. Join me on my journey and join in if it suits you, no pressure, it’s your life, but what I have come to realize is, we are handing this world to our kids, and as I treat my own, I refuse to send any that I can reach into the future ill-equipped and ignorant of something they need to fully participate in: Plant-based, vegan, anti-animal-cruelty, pollution, Ozone activist, tree-hugger………..whatever or whoever you are, your argument is with farmers: Cattle, pigs, chickens and fish. The pollutants they cause and disease they spread were never for us to ingest in the first place. But ask an American to give up Chicken or steak? It’s sure to be an unreasonable response. Join me and hopefully we can make a difference, for real.

I hate that I have to write this
I hate that few care
I hate what we are doing to our Planet
I hate that there is so much hate in the world
I hate that we can’t co-exist with each other
I hate that everyone seems to think they are owed something
I hate that people force their ideas on others
I hate that money is more important than life
I hate that there’s so much wealth in the world yet people are still starving
I hate that governments think they have the right to choose what’s best for us
I hate that my Country has become a bully instead of a blessing
I hate that religion creates so much hate
I hate that I’m not sure what future I might be giving my children
I hate that individuals think they can’t make a difference or help when everyone can
I hate that Lines divide our world
I hate that Love isn’t the most important thing to share with each other
I hate that it is looking really bad if humanity can’t come together
I hate today’s urgency to shoot each other
I hate that so many of our countries young men have lost their lives, for greed
I hate that there seems to be no end to all this until something devastating
I hate that I care enough for these things to affect me emotionally
I hate that the people who truly try to help are destroyed
I hate that the only thing I can do to help is write this

How many times do we hear, “I have a blog….what now?”, Or, “I want to share my ideas / Brand with the world but have no idea how to get it out there”. Or another of my favorites is, “I keep getting redirected into rabbit-holes and may have purchased something without knowing it”. That last one’s my favorite. I myself experienced this when I was just starting out. These troublesome issues I mentioned, and there are so many more, can be easily resolved with the right knowledge. Well, I have that knowledge and am here to spare you the trauma of getting a quality Web-page / Blog up and running and placed in the right Niche for your Brand.
That being said, I am here to help whether you donate or not, so I want to share a few starting points that are often missed or forgotten at the beginning of the Blog building process. These points that I will share with you mostly deal with securing your information and a domain on a good platform for your audience / market / Brand.
- Find a Domain – As we all know, the internet is “booming”. Everything Tech is popular and many of us are learning how to work for ourselves instead of “The Man”. It’s a whole new world and although there are plenty of ipv4 & ipv6 addresses available, the name you want to represent your Brand may not be, for long. (.com) is the most saute after domain, but it is relatively hard to secure specific names at this point. (.org) is great for an organization but small businesses tend to get buried in the SEO phase, pushed down below the many organizations, with major backing. So, the first step is to create a great name that is as SHORT AS POSSIBLE and as close to your brand name as you can get it.
- Web Host – This needs to be considered in conjunction with your Domain purchase. There will be a little research involved to find the best pricing, but generally, you should find a domain with a Host Platform that already has good traffic. There are quite a few out there with some very reasonable prices, you just have to look a little. One that I suggest is “1&1 IONOS”, this is a great Domain host, I purchased the Domain for $1 and it gave me a free WordPress, which is a great Blog Forum with plenty of traffic. I ended up being offered a year for $3 a month ($36 for the year), a great price. These are only a couple of options in a Web full of options so I would look around a bit first. You might want to look at the Website platform before hand as well, to make sure it is in line with your Brand, whatever form it may come in.
- Page Appeal – Use your creativity to create eye catching and magnetic appeal. This is a combination of enticing content and page appeal or structure. Having a fluid page is essential to keeping your audience interacting with your work / Brand. Glitches, animation overload or clutter (too many points of focus in a small area) can kill the audience experience quickly. Make sure your Host is solid, secure and speedy or it may cost you. Check your spelling. There’s nothing more ridiculous than someone advertising as a content writer and do something like “beleive”. This just looks like a failure to pay attention to details. Take the time to go over what you write before publishing. Often times, I have new ideas that relate to what I wrote and I end up with even more quality content, which will fuel your SEO, the most important concept.
- Links – Add your various links to your Web-page / Blog so the audience have the option to venture further into your creations, if they like. You can also add embedded code so that things like your Facebook feed will also show up on your Page.
- Subscribe / Like / Share / Join – There is no bigger support that you can give a writer / Brand / Blog than adding yourself to their email list, sharing their content or items that you enjoy, liking or joining their page and commenting on posts they share. Just like I am trying to gain exposure for my Content Writing, they are trying to gain exposure for their Brand. (whatever that may be) To not give the same respect to those with the same goal as you could end up very fruitless.
- Updates – Your a writer, Write! You have to post frequently if you are trying to grow your Brand and it needs to be quality content of no one’s coming back. If your writing for fun, that’s fine, but even the lonely writer wants a “like” or “share” occasionally. Some sort of recognition that they aren’t the only one feeling that way, maybe. If your having trouble with content, then I guarantee you have issues with your SEO. That’s why there are people like me who specialize in relieving some of the stress of trying to bring attention to your creation. Ask me about my services and I will be happy to assist you however I can.
Well my friends, thank you for joining me. Remember, writing is a passion, do it because you love to. The moment it stops being a pleasure, maybe set it down for a bit, never forever. Too much knowledge has been discovered centuries after being written, that may have made a difference in the progression of man, don’t leave unsaid what might need to be said again later. Just keep writing. Happy Blogging Everyone!

I live on pleasant visions of calms sea and light breeze
Times before traumas and emotions like these
Drifting lightly across the top of the tides
As if taking the absurdness of this in stride
Rising high above the pillows adrift
each breathe drawn in a precious gift
gliding back to somewhat solid ground
My smile slightly tips towards frown
How is it possible to feel so high
as I stand on the ground and stare at the sky
The dream I drift into is refreshing and bright
then the grayness returns and delivers my plight
Stand on the ground but don’t stand in one place
the spot where your standing can never be replaced
Keep moving and living and loving those close
Keep smiling and striving and live how you’ve chose
That dream helps remind those still standing still
the time that wasn’t given is ours to fulfill
One never knows what hurdles life brings
I’m coming to understand that sometimes, it’s just the way of things
